Hey,looking for some quick,easy,yummy,creamy smoothie recipes? Worry no more!
One of the best ingredients to use for making smoothies are bananas.Not only do they contain natural sugars but they also make thick smoothies. Bananas are also called the ‘happy fruits’ because they trigger the release of a hormone called serotonin from your brain which is a ‘feel good hormone ‘ and is believed elevate your mood.
You can have your banana smoothie plain or add different fruits for additional flavour,colour and nutrients (you know at RnM’s kitchen it’s about more than just a full stomach!). Here are some banana smoothie recipes to try at home;
Ingredients
Plain banana smoothie
- .Milk
- .Water
- .Bananas Frozen
- Cinnamon powder
Banana, pawpaw smoothie
- Milk
- Water
- Pawpaw
- Banana
Avocado banana smoothie
- Milk
- Water
- Banana
- Avocado
Mango banana
- Milk
- Banana
- Mango
- Water
METHOD
- Clean the fruits
- Assemble your blender
- Cut the fruits into small pieces
- Add some milk and water to the blender first then the fruits.
- sprinkle some cinnamon(optional)
- Blend to your desired texture while adding some milk to obtain your desired consistency.
- Once ready serve immediately,garnish with some fruits or seeds eg chia.
Tips
- Use frozen fruits for a creamy,frosty milkshake like texture.
- Add some grated beetroots for flavour,colour and nutrients.
- Milk gives the smoothie a nice creamy taste but if not available you can replace with coconut water.
- Use well ripe/overripe bananas for extra sweetness.
- The smoothies are best served immediately because the fruits oxidize with time resulting in colour change.
